Govtoday is pleased to announce our Social Care Conference and Exhibition 2013: Creating a person-centred system – to be held on Wednesday 13th March 2013 at the prestigious Grange Tower Bridge Hotel, Prescot St, London.
The Government and Department of Health are currently undertaking the most radical reform of the care and support system since 1948. The new system will focus on people’s wellbeing, supporting them to live independently for as long as possible. Care and support will be centred on people’s needs, giving them better care and more control over the care they receive. Better support will also be provided for carers.
On 11th July 2012, the ‘Caring for our future: reforming care and support’ White Paper was published, outlining the vision for the reformed care and support system. The draft Care and Support Bill creates a single modern piece of law for adult care and support, replacing complex and outdated legislation.
“The White Paper sets out our intention to measure people’s experience of integrated health and care, align incentives to support integration, and focus on delivering person-centred, co-ordinated care for older people.”
Paul Burstow MP, Minister of State for Care Services
Govtoday’s Creating a person-centred system conference will evaluate the White Paper and present a unique forum for debate, bringing together the leaders and key stakeholders involved in driving this agenda to listen to the real concerns and issues of those at the forefront of service delivery. Simultaneously, the conference will provide a platform for the dissemination of learning and best practice, and a showcase of productivity and innovation.
